We can sum up our trip in a few words: not enough time! This is probably often heard among travellers to these beautiful islands; there's just too much to do. We spent all of our time in the southern half of the south island, our route transcribing a rough ellipse starting from Christchurch, heading out west to the glacier lakes and the Southern Alps; then south to Queenstown, Te Anau and Milford Sound in Fiordland. From there we travelled through Invercargill and took the Southern Scenic Route around the south coast, up through Dunedin and finally arriving back in Christchurch.
We can't wait to go back...
